On Monday, November 13, 2023, reports surfaced on social media claiming that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had promised free haircuts for pensioners.
The claim has been widely circulated including by Joyce Bawah Mogtari, aid to the Former President John Dramani Mahama. Influencers on social media who also found the assertion unsettling joined in the dissemination.
It is said that such assertions are premeditated deception intended to misinform the people in order to score cheap political points.
Upon further checks by Political Fact Ghana, we can confirm that the said claim which made waves on various social media platforms is false and misleading.
The Vice President who doubles as the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has not said anything of the sort.
