The communication directorate of the office of the Vice President has refuted claims that the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that, “it’s time to break the Christian dominance of Ghana’s Presidency.”
This follows an artwork that made waves on social media mainly X, formerly twitter. The artwork surfaced on social media a few days after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had elected the Vice President as their flagbearer for the 2024 general election.
The artwork featured an image of the Vice President and text which says, “it’s time to break the Christian dominance of Ghana’s Presidency. We, Muslims can also lead this Nation. Let’s go there and show the world that we are capable. This is the time for Muslims.”
Per the checks conducted by Political Fact Ghana, the aforementioned claim is a fabricated one and should be disregarded.
