The claim has been widely circulated, most notably by a popular account on the X app, @ghanamunsemsem. The claim accused the Vice President who doubles as the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of deleting his tweets from 2013 to 2017.

Between 2013 and 2016, Dr Bawumia, the flagbearer of the NPP made multiple remarks that were critical with regard to the ‘poor performance’ of the previous John Mahama administration. He also assured that the NPP government would undertake many initiatives to strengthen the economy and stabilise the cedi when they assume office.

The claims alleging that Dr. Bawumia has deleted his old tweets imply that the Vice President is avoiding accountability or running away from his own statements.
