Disregard any post claiming Dr Gideon Boako said Dr Bawumia seizes to be a Muslim.
On Sunday 15th October, a post featuring a video of Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye went viral on X formerly Twitter.
In the video where the two were seen dancing, it was captioned; “Dr Bawumia didn’t attend the annual Maulid celebration yesterday in Fadama because he has now accepted Jesus as his personal saviour hence seize to be a Muslim.”- Dr Gideon Boako
The Maulid which is celebrated to remember the birth of Prophet Muhammed happened at Fadama in the Greater Accra Region over the weekend whiles the Vice President was away in the Savannah Region.
Further Checks by Political Fact Ghana revealed that the video has gone viral across many social media platforms and has hence become a fodder for disinformation.
We found no evidence to back up assertions that Dr. Bawumia has converted to Christianity. Ignore those claims.
